dc.description.abstract | During MAPEX2000 some simultaneous ambient noise measurements with an HLA and satellite SAR images were collected. The aim was to predict shipping and wind noise from the satellite radar and to compare results with acoustic measurements. This report takes the acoustic data alone and investigates differences in noise directionality and shipping densities in fair and rough weather conditions. Directionality and various statistics are studied as a function of frequency and time (several hours). In addition, picking one ship at a time it is possible to study its aspect dependence as it passes the HLA. | |
